Once Upon a Toothpick by Samuel Fairbank
For Substack subscribers, here’s the first heads up to our new YouTube channel @wegenertoolco
You can watch our latest video now. Once Upon a Toothpick by Samuel Fairbank, soon to be featured on the Pacific Longboarder Newswire, is now available to Substack Subscribers.
In Once Upon a Toothpick, I share this iconic Australian surfboard with Noosa’s Hunter Williams.
After we made a mini-toothpick for Hunter, we waited for just the right conditions to launch the board. Noosa has the perfect sandbank to find trim and keep going on a nice clean swell and this small wave is what we were after.
It shows how incredible the toothpick is as a surfboard. With down the line speed and control it offers perfect trim on a wave. Skip Frye says perfect trim is the ultimate surfing experience, and I have to agree. You can see and feel the stoke.
The perfect day in Noosa, with family and friends, in search of perfect trim. Watch it now.
All new content and lessons for making surfboards will be posted on this channel so please make sure to Subscribe and Like on YouTube.

Hi Tom I have just made one a copy of an old tooth pick that originally came from Avalon surf club. We have a plan to get together a few good surfer's to ride it and a local who is really good with videos will get some footage. The local TV channel Win 4 from Wollongong will also attend. I would like to send you a couple of photos of the board if that's possible. Regards Colin
Hi Colin, that is great. So stoked to hear that. Please send photos of the board and we would love to share them if that's ok. You can email them to admin@wegenertoolco.com
We look forward to seeing how it works out. I would encourage you to get surfers of all ages involved and get some kids on the toothpick as well! Thanks for sharing, Tom
